MP Farmer Dies of Shock After Earning Paltry Rs 10,000 for 27 Quintal Onions

Bherulal Malviya had come to Mandsaur mandi to sell 27 quintals of onion but due to a steep fall in prices, the middle-aged farmer received just Rs 10,440 at the rate of Rs 372 per quintal.
The incident occurred when around 25 people were crossing the old bridge over a stream in the village, over 100 kms from Pune. The iron bridge is 25 years old and was rusting at the foundation due to stream water.
Ophthalmologist Dr Govinda Venkataswamy, the founder of Aravind Eye Hospital, was conferred the Padmashree award in 1973 for his service to the nation.
