The Pakistani nationals had arrived here on February 12 on a valid visa and will be under the vigilance of the district's intelligence unit till their departure on March 27.
The incident occurred when around 25 people were crossing the old bridge over a stream in the village, over 100 kms from Pune. The iron bridge is 25 years old and was rusting at the foundation due to stream water.
Ophthalmologist Dr Govinda Venkataswamy, the founder of Aravind Eye Hospital, was conferred the Padmashree award in 1973 for his service to the nation.
