Pune Woman Claims Husband Infected Her With HIV Through Saline

The woman claimed that her husband, a homoeopathic doctor, and his parents were harassing her for dowry since the couple got married in 2015. When she fell sick in October 2017, her husband administered her saline at home.
The incident occurred when around 25 people were crossing the old bridge over a stream in the village, over 100 kms from Pune. The iron bridge is 25 years old and was rusting at the foundation due to stream water.
Ophthalmologist Dr Govinda Venkataswamy, the founder of Aravind Eye Hospital, was conferred the Padmashree award in 1973 for his service to the nation.
